Reflexive pronoun

What is a reflexive pronoun?

A reflexive pronoun is used as an object when the subject of a sentence and its object are the same person or thing.

Ex.

There are nine types of reflexive pronoun -

I - myself, we - ourselves, you - yourself, yourselves, he - himself, she- herself, it -
itself, they - themselves, one - oneself

Use reflexive pronoun after acquit, avail, reconcile, amuse, resign, avenge, exert, apply, adapt, adjust, pride, absent, enjoy.

Ex. The students exert themselves.

I pride myself  on being able to work smoothly under pressure too.

You should avail yourself of this opportunity.

Doesn't use reflexive pronoun after keep, stop, turn, qualify, bath, move, rest, hide.

Note - if an object comes after these verbs then doesn't use reflexive pronoun.

Ex. They enjoyed the party. (Doesn't use reflexive pronoun.)

He enjoyed during vacation. ( Use themselves after enjoyed because an object doesn't comes after enjoyed.)

He was absent.
He absented himself.
If absent is used as a verb then doesn't use reflexive pronoun.

Thanks..🙂🙂
